【摘要】:Amajorconcernfordetentionandcorrectionaladministrativeofficialsisthereliableoperationofslidingdevicesusedintheirfacilities.Thesetestmethodsaidinassigningalevelofphysicalsecurityandperformancetodevicesforslidingdoorassemblies.Thesetestmethodsevaluatetheresistanceofaslidingdoorassemblytoattacksusingbatteringdevices,pryingdevices,smoke,andfire.Thesetestmethodsalsoevaluatetheperformanceofaslidingdeviceundersimulatedoperatingconditions.Thesetestmethodsdonotprovideameasureoftheresistanceorperformanceofthedevicesubjectedtoattackbychemicalagents,ballistics,explosives,orotherextrememethodsofattack.Thesetestmethodsdonotmeasuretheresistanceorperformanceofthedevicewhensubjectedtoenvironmentalelementssuchashumidity,temperature,rain,snow,orwind-carrieddustorsand.Wheresuchelementsmaybeafactorthemanufacturershouldbeconsultedforproperapplication.Theprimarypurposeofthesetestmethodsistoapproximatethelevelsofabuseandoperatingconditionstowhichdevicesaresubjectedindetentionandcorrectionalinstitutions.Theresultofthesetestmethodswillprovideameasureofassuranceofprotectiontothecorrectionalpersonnel,public,andinmates.Preventativemaintenanceprogramsshallbeprovidedinaccordancewiththemanufacturerrsquo;recommendationtoenableslidingdeviceassembliestofunctionasintendedthroughouttheexpectedservicelife.Thesetestmethodsdonotmeasuretheperformanceorcyclelifeofthelocalorremotemechanicalemergencyreleasemechanism,orboth,duetotheirdesignvariablesandlowuserrequirements.1.1Thesetestmethodscovertheapparatus,procedures,andacceptanceconditionsforevaluatingthenormaloperationalperformanceandtheperformancecharacteristicsunderassault,smoke,andfireconditionsofslidingdeviceassembliesindetentionandcorrectionalinstitutions.Thesetestmethodsgiveanindicationoftheperformancecharacteristicsofdevicesinactualservice.Suchvariablesasinstallationandmaintenanceconditionsarenotconsidered.1.2Itistheintentofthesetestmethodstohelpensurethatdetentionslidingdevicesperformatoraboveminimumacceptablelevelstocontrolpassagetounauthorizedorsecureareas,toconfineinmatesandtodelayandfrustrateescapeattemptsandresistvandalism.However,thesetestmethodsdonotaddressdoorconstruction.Itisrecognizedthatinordertomeettheintentofthesetestmethods,doorassembliesshallbecompatiblewiththelevelofperformancerequiredbyTestMethodsF1450.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
