【摘要】:1.1ThistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoflinearthermalexpansionofrigidsolidsusingeitheraMichelsonorFizeauinterferometer.1.2Forthispurpose,arigidsolidisdefinedasamaterialwhich,attesttemperatureandunderthestressesimposedbyinstrumentation,hasanegligiblecreep,insofarassignificantlyaffectingtheprecisionofthermallengthchangemeasurements.1.3Itisrecognizedthatmanyrigidsolidsrequiredetailedpreconditioningandspecificthermaltestschedulesforcorrectevaluationoflinearthermalexpansionbehaviorforcertainmaterialapplications.Sinceageneralmethodoftestcannotcoverallspecificrequirements,detailsofthisnatureshouldbediscussedintheparticularmaterialspecifications.1.4Thistestmethodisapplicabletotheapproximatetemperaturerange150to700C.Thetemperaturerangemaybeextendeddependingontheinstrumentationandcalibrationmaterialsused.1.5Theprecisionofmeasurementofthisabsolutemethod(betterthan40nm/(mK))issignificantlyhigherthanthatofcomparativemethodssuchaspushroddilatometry(forexample,TestMethodsD696andE228)andthermomechanicalanalysis(forexample,TestMethodE831)techniques.Itisapplicabletomaterialshavinglowandeitherpositiveornegativecoefficientsofexpansion(below5m/(mK))andwhereonlyverylimitedlengthsorthicknessofotherhigherexpansioncoefficientmaterialsareavailable.1.6Computerorelectronicbasedinstrumentation,techniquesanddataanalysissystemsequivalenttothistestmethodcanbeused.Usersofthetestmethodareexpresslyadvisedthatallsuchinstrumentsortechniquesmaynotbeequivalent.Itistheresponsibilityoftheusertodeterminethenecessaryequivalencypriortouse.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
